I See You, I Hear You, I Feel You
The main aim of this meeting was to introduce and practice forum theatre. The participants were trainedin Forum Theatre techniques and approaches that were specifically aimed at the identification andexploration of justice issues. The LTTa final "product" was the public FT with the participation of studentsand local parents.
Day 1
Opening ceremony and introduction day. Visiting authorities and getting to know events.
Day 2
Visit Toledo or Cuenca, the capitals of the area.
Objectives/results
Work about thecoexistence of different cultures and religions throughout history in this city (Jews, Christians andArabs).
Analyse the actual situation in our schools about immigration.
Learn the difference betweendiscrimination and exclusion.
The groups explored in World Cafes their own attitudes and experiences ofdiversity, equality and discrimination/bullying.
The workshop aimed to explore social issues that studentsare likely to face in their own lives and we tested out strategies, which could resolve or improve thesesituations. Students also learn how to achieve respect for diversity in society.
Day 3
Exploring the ForumTheatre toolbox: images, scene, character and relationship creation.
Objectives: learning to expressemotions and thoughts, learning to design problem-focused drama pieces.
Workshops of theatre etudes.We performed many different etudes to dive into the actors' world. Exercises aimed to strengthen groupdynamics, explore the principles of FT, to explore the themes of bullying. Also, we ended each sessionwith an RP circle of questions and feedback, to deepen the use of the methodology.
The host schoolguided participants through a process of designing their drama pieces within a Forum Theatre frameworkled by the issues of equality and bullying.
Day 4
From Image to intervention and Forum
Objectives:exploring issues of oppression, danger and bullying; creating a forum for debate; elements of FT,practising interventions, dividing roles for FT
Activities/results
*drama skills for creating images of theworld, bullying and children's part in it.
*a room for debate afterwards, restorative circles.
*strategicthinking, the connection between cause and effect, intervention techniques
*basic mechanism of FT,roles, audience discussion
Day 5
Forum Theatre Day
The final performances, cultural events andfarewell night.
The workshops and forum drama build-up was a part of a peer learning process beforewriting a drama piece/scenarios and identifying target groups
to deliver them to.
